Pasta

The attachment is well made. It's more difficult to use and clean than I had hoped. You definitely need to add the dough into it in small bits, otherwise it needs to be pushed through. I followed the given recipe for the pasta, and it needed WAY more liquid added to it. The second time around I added about 1/4 cup instead of the listed tablespoon. Much easier to go through.

Makes excellent noodles with my KitchenAid!

Pleasantly surprised with this neat tool. It fits perfectly into my kitchen aid without paying the kitchen aid price. Some of the pieces were plastic, but they were durable and I don’t see them breaking easily. The booklet of instructions is handy and easy to read. I actually really liked the egg noodle recipe given and worked perfectly for any of the noodles. It is a little slower than I thought, but it’s nice that I could stick the dough in the top and then not have to worry about catching the noodles and feeding the dough at the same time. The swinging wire cutter was really cool and super simple to get the noodles the length I wanted. The cleaning tool that came with it cleaned all the pieces. It had a brush end like a toothbrush and then the other end could alternate between a plastic poker and a metal pick that could fit into the tiniest holes in the pasta caps.

Unlike other pasta makers this one is all metal so it holds up and lasts! It has a variety of different shape/sizes too! Works well and seems to be a really good quality so I have faith it will withstand long term use! I’d happily recommend this to others

A solid pasta extruder

This seems to be a robust well built pasta maker. It comes with five dies for making different pasta shapes. While most of the machine is metal, the dies are made out of plastic.I'll be honest, never used this type of pasta maker before so there is certainly a learning curve. The first batch of bucatini tuned out ok, the machine extruded well. Afterwards it was fairly easy to disassemble and clean.But there are a few quirks to this machine. First off the attachment is in a bit of an awkward position over the kitchen aid, at least with the bowl lift model I have. It falls directly on the ridge of the indentation where the bowl sits, so putting any plate underneath to catch the pasta where is not really possible because it won't sit flat.The attached cutting knife seems a little flimsy and at least with my initial egg noodle dough recipe seemed to not cut as clean as I hoped, but that might be something that requires practice.The dies all store in a clear plastic attachment, which does not attach terribly tightly. It pops off pretty much immediately if you set the pasta maker on its side.Additionally one of the plastic dies is slightly warped. Once it's installed in the machine it is not an issue, but it does not seem to seat well in the storage container.But most of those are pretty minor complaints. All that said, I'm happy with the machine.
